As
the name suggests La
Torretta is an example of Umbrian fortified
architecture that still preserves the ancient
tower, with a total of 250 sq mt plus ca. 70n sq mt covered
porticos. Because of its original function it is located in a
strategic position on a hill with a wide panoramic
vista and exceptional views of Todi. Private gated
entrance and covered parking. The villa is less than 10 minutes
from the center of Todi.
Restored
by the owner, an architect, the villa combines traditional characteristics
such as exposed beamed ceilings and terracotta floors with the best in
modern design, planning and conveniences. The villa has been
appointed with excellent furnishings and the blend of fine decorations
and quality country fabrics make this a truly handsome dwelling.
Many of the furnishings are on sale with the villa.
Ground
floor: There is a wide
glass porch which encloses a conversation zone and the dining
area with an indoor barbeque. The porch is encircled by a bamboo
and vine-covered wooden
pergola which creates shade while allowing for magnificent views of
Todi. A terrace
extends to one side of the porch overlooking the pool with outside seating.
An elegant
living room with stone fireplace is between the porch and the kitchen.
The
country-style kitchen in majolica tiles with marble counter-top
is fully-equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and opens
on to a shady covered patio
on the back of the villa for morning or mid-day meals. A double/twin bedroom
and private bathroom with tub has French windows opening on to the same
patio as the kitchen. Guest bathroom. Separate laundry facilities.
First
and top floors: Master bedroom with en-suite bath and private
terrace; three more bedrooms and two bathrooms, of which one en-suite.
Land:
The villa is on ca. 1 hectare of land with olive trees and a beautiful
landscaped garden with cypresses, lavender, roses and a variety of shrubs
all encircled by woodlands. Lovely 12 x 6 meter pool
in panoramic position with paved deck.
